A busy pub, with great beer, drinks and food. We always get a warm welcome and the food is excellent. Great seating outside too. Good local walks.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ **A Hidden Gem – The Rising Sun**
The Rising Sun is a truly wonderful local pub with a welcoming atmosphere that makes you feel right at home the moment you walk through the door. The staff are friendly, the setting is cozy, and there’s a lovely community feel that’s becoming rare these days.
The food is absolutely outstanding — the **beef shin pie** is out of this world, rich, tender, and packed with flavour. It’s clear it’s been slow-cooked with care, and it’s one of the best pub dishes I’ve ever had. The **fish and chips** are another standout — homemade, perfectly crisp, and impressively **gluten-free** without losing any of that classic taste or texture. Everything tastes fresh and thoughtfully prepared.
Whether you’re popping in for a pint or planning a proper meal, The Rising Sun delivers every time. A true local treasure — highly recommended! 🌅🍻

Absolute gem of a pub. Went to a wedding here yesterday and I cannot fault anything at all!! The staff, food and service were fantastic. Nothing was too much trouble. When we arrived the welcome we received was amazing, drinks and canapés were constantly flowing. Once we were seated staff were always on hand for anything anyone needed. We had a gorgeous hog roast for our dinner and everything was perfect. Into the evening the staff were still on the ball and presented a fantastic evening buffet. For anyone looking for a venue for your wedding I would highly recommend The Rising Sun to anyone!! Thank you to everyone who made the day so so special.

Absolutely excellent food here. Great service, very friendly. Popped in on Saturday for a lunch with 6 of us and thoroughly enjoyed it. The fish pie was superb.

Attractive country pub with plenty of outdoor seating in addition to the bar area and restaurant, which is just as well as it does get busy. The food is very good and priced mid-range. Less impressed by having a 10% service charge added automatically to my bill, even though we ordered and paid at the bar - what is that all about in a pub? This is hidden on the paper bill placed on a saucer under a handful of jellybeans, so you can't see the added service!

Lovely pub serving good food. A good few vegan options too! Went on a Saturday night and it was very busy so the food took quite a while to arrive, but we were happy soaking in the lovely atmosphere.

Highly recommend this pub its professional laid back and has great food , the toilets are always clean as is the pub it’s self inside and out.
There is disabled access to the pub and to the toilets. The car park is ample big enough but also has another one at the other side , landlord and lady are very nice and the chef and staff also great

Food is very good quality with great flavours. Portion size of starters is a bit small for the price, but main courses are big and tasty.
Staff are top class. Attentive, efficient and friendly.
In all a great night out.
