Best spa ever!!! If you are thinking of booking then do it- there is no way you could have a bad time. I’ve been with friends and other times with my husband. He has never been into spas until we came here, feel like with our busy lifestyles it really resets us and gives us time to pause together in luxury. Love it

Room not ready on arrival which was about 4.00 pm. We stayed for 4 nights, room was clean but dated. Hooks on bathroom door broken. Only provided towels for one guest (when we booked a twin room) on 1st night and had to ask for additional towels next morning. Had to chase for clean towel change on two of the days. Additional cost for classes a bit steep considering cost of stay. Food and drink in Orangery only payable by cc which is strange and unreasonable as most guests are usually in bathrobes fir most of day. Nowhere to have coffee after dinner, as orangery was closed and told to use the tea/coffee tray in our room! Not enough staff on site, stall were multi-tasking, running from reception check in to checkout desk. Not enough staff in restaurant. Although a healthspa menu did not cater well for vegans. Took exception to one night main restaurant closed due to a private function and were told to book at in smaller restaurant at only time available which was 6.00 pm. We turned up at 6.00 only to be told the small restaurant didnt open until 6.30 and we should leave. To think we were paying a lot of money to go to Forest Mere, which used ti be great. Lack of communication between management and staff very evident. Go elsewhere, even maybe abroad for prob better accommodation and service and prob cheaper Avoid going if you can.

We arranged for our manager and deputy to have a nights stay and treatment, the service they received was amazing and were both blown away with the experience. They said the staff were polite and helpful and will go again soon . The rooms were lovely and comfortable too

I booked a spa day for myself and two friends who had Birthdays for Monday 26th March. I have had a lot of stress recently with my Mum in hospital and so was really looking forward to a chilled relaxing day. From the moment we got there and the queue at reception the day was just so disappointing. Everything is 'extra' even hot drinks during the day and you cannot buy them without your own debit card which I didn't really want to carry around with me all day. The swimming pool was like being at Butlins, noisy and the best beds were all taken by towels being left on them for most of the day. The outdoor jacuzzi was cold. I found a relaxation room off of the pool area and sat with my eyes closed trying to relax to suddenly being very surprised to hear loud pop music coming from the pool area. My treatment was ok but my masseur was coughing over me and sniffing for most of the treatment, she also forgot to apply the face mask she had sold to me at the beginning. There was also no relaxation area after your treatment like most good Spas have. For lunch we were put into a dark side room with no windows and the soup was so salty it was inedible. When we told the waitress she said other people had complained too and offered us a replacement starter but then came back to say the kitchen said no, starters were finished. I really struggled to find anywhere to actually relax properly, eventually opting for a games room overlooking the lake. There was a relaxation room off of the changing rooms that looked like a school dormitory and was freezing cold! This was an expensive spa day so expectations were high but it is not run like an expensive resort at all, i suggest the management take a good look at the Business model they are offering for the rates they are charging.

Very disappointed as we have visited many times this time they charged us for the lunch for the 3 days we are staying. The fitness classes are now chargeable and when I tried to talk to a guest service manager she was not interested and said from this month they won't be charging for the lunch anymore. They tried and it did not work. She recommended writing it on the survey after our stay. Not interested. It's a shame the manager does not care.

Visited on short notice as I decided I wanted a nice break and hadn't been to a spa in a good couple of years. The outside of the building could do with some care. When you park up you're greeted with peeling paint work and visibly damaged service doors which don't set you for a good start. On arrival, the hostess was pleasant and warming, and I was quicky seen to. My room was lovely and exceptional value for the space provided. Room, seperate lounge area, and a bathroom with seperate shower and bath. The spa facilities are smaller than I was expecting, mostly consisting of the pool and saunas Food was exceptional and is what keeps this score up. The only downside was being overcharged (being told lunch wasn't included although my email confirmation says otherwise) and both the hotel and Head Office being of no help. Rooms: Amazingly spacious, with plenty of amenities Food & drinks: A variety of choice, with a core focus on health and balanced nutrition.

My wife visited Champneys Forest Mere over the weekend for a one night Classic Spa Stay that I purchased for £320. Whilst she is not one to complain, I know that the experience has been underwhelming to say the least, and I would just like to voice my disappointment. I have never used Champneys previously and will be in no position to do so again. I had to ring to book the overnight stay as I can't do this online for a package stay. I waited for over 40 minutes to speak to someone to make the reservation and I asked for them to send me details and times available for the treatments included, but I never received this information. I followed this up with several emails to the reservations team without response, which set the tone for what lay ahead. The hotel itself was understaffed at reception, the rooms were dated and the beds were uncomfortable and considering the lovely location of the hotel, the cost cutting exercises evident are having a clear negative effect on the customer experience. It is not anywhere near what you would expect, for what I was led to believe, is a leading Health and Spa resort. Based on the advice of customer service when I spoke to them at the time of the booking, I booked an additional spa treatment on the app which I was told to download. I received confirmation of this once booked and through my banking app. When my wife arrived she was told that these bookings are only seen as requests , so there was no active booking on their system! Thankfully my wife was able to book in the treatment at a different time and swap treatments around, but even at that, there was an issue on arrival for one of the treatments. I spent £320 on the "package" which includes a treatment, breakfast, dinner and lunch. My wife had to upgrade the dinner and the breakfast as the options were limited. There were no gluten free desserts available for those who are lactose intolerant which is mind blowing considering you avail of this in a local coffee shop, pub or restaurant! So my wife could not even have a dessert that had already been paid for. I cannot comment on the lunch as my wife decided to check out early on Sunday and return home to avoid further disappointment. So before paying for additional treatments, which I do not have an issue with, I paid almost £370 for a one night classic stay for my wife. Almost £500 in total to the Champneys Chain, who are clearly operating where the customers' needs, desires and satisfaction are not at the forefront of the business decisions and actions. I should be calling the police to report a robbery! I emailed Champneys Forest Mere 72 hours ago to offer them the opportunity to respond, but as this unsurprisingly has not been forthcoming, I am now posting this review to the wider public audience. Whilst I would not hold my breath, hopefully Champneys will take the comments on board and introduce improvements and to at least provide customers with an enjoyable and unforgettable experience, which is clearly lacking at present. My advice to all at present would be to AVOID and seek a Spa and health break elsewhere.

Really lovely overnight stay at Champneys. Have visited them all and this one is probably my favourite, mainly because of the location and the beautiful lake. So peaceful. The room and bathroom were a Little tired, but perfectly comfortable, clean and had everything you might need. A couple of things in the spa were currently not working, but this was easy to overlook because of the friendliness of the staff and the great food ! We had dinner, breakfast and lunch. Enjoyed all these meals, but lunch on the Monday was our favourite. Big shout out to chef Brazley (so sorry if I've misspelled your name) that was the best pasta dish I've had in a long time ! *please note this dish looked beautiful on presentation, forgot to take a photo at that point and had already been enjoying : )

Had a great 2-night spa break. The accommodation is quite modern, but with a relaxing natural aesthetic. The room and bathroom were clean and tidy. The weather was quite rainy during our stay, so we had just a little explore of the beautiful grounds, but spent most of the time in the spa. The provided robes were comfortable, and there was a good range of facilities - large pool, whirlpools, experience showers, heated water beds, and saunas/steam rooms (both shared by the pool and split by gender in the changing rooms) as well as relaxation spaces. I had a great massage from Frank, who like all the staff was friendly and attentive. I was a bit worried about what the food would be like, but was pleasantly surprised. There was a good range of options, particularly as a pescetarian, all healthy yet tasty. Drinks were a little on the expensive side. The provided continental-style breakfast suited me - a cooked breakfast was available as an upgrade at additional cost. We booked with a discount via Vitality Health Insurance, which made it very good value for money. Admittedly, I would probably hesitate to book it at full price.
